Report accidents and near-misses, etc.

How to report accidents and near misses to the relevant authorities

Reporting an accident that has occurred in connection with offshore oil and gas activities, e.g. at an offshore installation, must be done by the employer liable for insurance no later than 10 days after the accident occurred. The notification must be submitted digitally, see below.

Accidents that result in death or serious injury must be reported immediately to the South Jutland Police on tel. +45 76 11 14 48, followed by a written notification to the Danish Working Environment Authority.

Furthermore, the operator of a production installation or the owner of a non-production installation offshore, e.g. a mobile drilling rig, must register all accidents and deaths that have occurred in connection with offshore oil and gas activities.
